Assist in directing the financial affairs of the company within the scope of responsibility outlined by the CEO, CFO; and Corporate Controller.
Responsible for coordinating and managing the activities of Accounting / Finance using standard principles and procedures, including the participation in, review and supervision of the accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
Lead statutory governance and ensure compliance with all local statutory laws and regulations.
Verify compliance with standard company financial policies and procedures.
Notify CFO and/or Corporate Controller of any misappropriation or irregularities.
Prepare and supervise preparation of monthly consolidated financial results in an accurate and timely manner (in accordance with US GAAP).
Prepare accurate and timely monthly consolidated financial review package satisfying all Corporate requirements.
Review location monthly financials and perform detailed analytical reviews to understand trends in business activities.
Oversee financial management of Japan operations, including review of financial results, profitability assessments, pricing and other significant areas.
Prepare cash forecasts and monthly cash flow analysis and communicate contract needs to CFO / Corporate Controller.
Assist with preparation of locations specific annual budget and forecasts with supporting documentation.
Support all local banking activities, including facilitation of appropriate banking structure and managing location cash conversion cycle.
Monitor letters of credit for payment and correction of discrepancies with banks.
Monitoring and ensuring an effective internal control framework is in place and operating effectively. This includes compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.
Assist with contract research and administration of all significant locations contracts (i.e., Government, large OEM and Tier 1).
Drive improvements in financial record keeping through full utilization of customized ERP system.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to train, supervise, develop, and evaluate the performance of subordinates
Ability to work in a multicultural environment
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Must be fluent in both Japanese and English
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and statutory principles
Consistent achievement of accurate and timely financial reporting
Excellent knowledge of utilizing tools to automate and link data reports
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, Certified Public Accountant or equivalent experience
Minimum of seven years of experience in accounting and finance with managerial experience
Experience with multinational corporations
Manufacturing/Costing Experience
Experience with financial systems implementations
Knowledge of ERP Systems; experience with Syteline (Company ERP) a plus
Computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
