Job DescriptionAs an HR Associate Director or Director, this role will lead HR for a specific business unit (BU) in Japan, working locally and alongside regional HR colleagues.
This role is responsible for leading, managing and coordinating the HR services on shore for all BU's employees and business partnering with its leaders. It involves setting HR plans and leading people initiatives locally in advancing the country and regional business strategy. As a member of the APAC BU's team, you will participate/lead regional programs and initiatives in driving its HR strategy and vision.
It is an exciting, fast paced role where you are directly working with the business and having a visible impact on the success of it in Japan.
Requirements Bachelor's Degree/University Degree in HR or Business preferred
Solid experience in HR business partnering and/or Generalist experience with strong knowledge of employee relations, compensation and benefits
Few years leading a team, preferably a HR function
Strong knowledge and experience in dealing with employee matters and labour laws in Japan
Experience working autonomously in multi-national environments for large globally based organizations with complex matrix reporting structures
Ability to assess a situation and adapt quickly and make sound decisions
Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service with demonstrated ability to create value
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to persuade and influence others, at times managing up
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills, confidence leading HR calls and professional appearance/demeanour
Innovative and problem solving skills, with ability to multi-task in a high paced environment
