Job Description

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:

Under the direction of the IT Infrastructure Lead, this position supports the overall IT operations for a large IT end-user and services provider environment, supporting multinational environment users in the Manufacturing Industry. The incumbent will have the responsibility to operate overall IT operations supported by manager. This will involve fostering good relationships in different regions to establish effective communication and interaction with global or regional key business or IT stakeholders to ensure alignment of IT services and deliver high quality services to business.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

Coordination and collaboration with regional and IT global teams
Experience with incident management
Experience with vendor management
Onsite Technical Executive level customer support - deskside, by email and telephone
Troubleshooting user IT issues mainly in Windows environment
Escalating unresolved problems to 2nd or 3rd level support team when required
Creating and updating “trouble tickets”
Basic server administration – account creation, lockouts, server check etc.
Provide regular scheduled and project support
Interface with the offices or client representatives to provide regular updates and reporting on issue resolution
Assist with troubleshooting and upgrades to the office infrastructure
To be involved with IT on infrastructure projects, consulting when required for the Project Management team
Work effectively in teams. Follow instructions and see them to completion in a timely fashion
Problem Solving – Ability to gather information; explore and eliminate alternatives; request and utilize assistance from other sources
A strong desire to further professional knowledge and abilities
Experience with office IT infrastructure – PCs, Servers, LAN, smartphones, etc. as Level 2 and/or Level 3 escalation point
Experience with Windows and Linux servers
Experience supporting IP telephony, video conference and collaboration systems
Project team experience in new office infrastructure design and implementation
Capacity planning and analysis
Customer Service – Able to describe issues clearly to end users and Clients’ Management. Summaries activities and results effectively communicate with clients regarding their requirements and concerns
Experience and strong ability supervising/training/mentoring junior engineers
Strong MS Exchange experience and/or strong Cisco NW skills (CCNP or CCIE level) preferred
VMware and Cisco network device management experience preferred
Microsoft Certifications: Min. MCSE; on Windows Server 2003/2008 preferred
Cisco Certifications: CCNP/CCDA/CIPT preferred
Experience with Office 365 or with other cloud systems highly beneficial
Able to work unsupervised and provide focused results
Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year College or university
At least 7 years experience in a large IT end-user or services provider environment, preferably supporting multinational environment users in the Manufacturing Industry

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Bilingual English – Japanese fluency is preferred with ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leadership group, project managers, clients, customers, and the general public
