Job DescriptionThis role is a full-time permanent position based in Hong Kong, supporting the growth of search engine visibility and traffic in Japan. Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the SEO manager role will create, optimize and manage web content and link development initiatives to improve the organic search performance of several sites. The successful candidate will transform search engines into the primary source of qualified traffic to its website.
Perform site-specific keyword research and competitive analysis, understand the website structure, identify SEO opportunities and deploy SEO strategies accordingly.
Monitor and report on key performance metrics for organic search: ranking, traffics, conversion rates, etc., and proactively act on the insights.
Write creative and inspiring content (in Japanese) customised to their websites/blogs/social media of different regions, to help drive customer engagement and SEO rankings.
Review and analyse the website to optimise existing content and improve conversion rate.
Research and develop a dense network through effective partnership building with educational and resource websites, bloggers, influencers, etc.
Execute technical projects for best SEO performance.
Ongoingly try and test different SEO tactics.
Work closely with local sales offices and other marketing teams to train staff in the basic concepts of organic search and coordinate their work on the site in relation to SEO.
Requirements Native Japanese speaker. Very strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Japanese are essential. Other language skills preferred but not required.
Excellent Japanese copy-writing and editorial skills to create engaging, customer-centric and search engine optimized content across various formats. Previous experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and excellent proof-reading ability.
Strong analytical skills.
Confidence to explore and use various SEO tools to perform analysis.
Comfortable with challenging deadlines, workloads, and goals.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, international team environment and communicate persuasively by e-mail and telephone.
Strong team player that is willing to learn and share knowledge but also able to work without supervision.
Graduation from university with related degree and strong academic credentials.
Working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint. SEO tools and CMS experience preferred.
