Job Description

Overview

The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager will provide leadership and coordination of the company’s financial planning and analysis, forecasting, budget management, and general accounting procedures.

What will you be doing?

As the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, you will be responsible for all financial statement analysis and cash flow analysis for the company's Japan operations. You will also lead the annual budget preparation processes and consolidate budgets for Japan region and departments.

You will develop and implement the management reporting of actual results versus budgets, provide variance analysis, and facilitate decision-making for senior management, and the Board of Directors.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing all general accounting, and overseeing daily operation of the finance department
• Developing quarterly and yearly sales projections, working directly with Country Manager and VPs
• Assisting with the development of short and long-term scenario-based budgeting driven from key market and business analysis
• Developing and executing standardized business performance reporting and analysis with the goal of making specific recommendations to support management decision making
• Conducting financial statement analysis, and cash flow analysis
• Maintaining the integration of data from our accounting & financial systems
• Driving the coordination and distribution of financial planning and financial results with appropriate references to the underlying operating drivers
• Responsible for quarterly reforecast as well as other ad hoc projects
• Expertise in Japanese regulatory and tax compliance, including familiarity with JP GAAP, corporate tax, consumption tax, and withholding tax.

In this role, they are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is familiar with SaaS business and environment, standard financial concepts & practices, budget and forecasts, all while possessing the initiative to handle any issues that may arise.

Other qualities you will need to be a fit for this role include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5-7 years of relevant financial planning & analysis experience
• Demonstrated understanding of fundamental corporate financial relationships (accounting, operations, treasury, tax, and regulatory reporting)
• Comprehensive analytical skills including the forecasting and analysis of revenues and operating expenses (required)
• Expert Excel skills with exceptional scenario analysis skills and extensive experience conducting and presenting quantitative and qualitative financial analysis using Excel models, charts and graphs
• Ability to translate data into useful information and communicate key findings and assumptions in a concise fashion to senior management
• Experience working in a global environment, multi-currency cash management; FX hedging experience is a plus
• Multi-element software, maintenance, and services experience is a plus
• Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners
• Self-starter with a high degree of initiative and sense of urgency
• Ability to mentor and develop junior team members
• Exceptionally thorough and detail-oriented
