Job Description (業務内容)
The Senior Manager, Business Development Lead, New Product Strategy & Business Development (NPBD) in Japan is responsible for contributing to business growth and profitability through a variety of BD activities. The primary focus of the role is to evaluate new opportunities, manage the process and build long-term relationships with external and internal stakeholders with prospects in a manner consistent with Alexion Pharmaceutical's culture and values. As Senior Manager, you have extensive professional experience in this field and required skills. The Senior Manager reports to Director of NPBD and works in close collaboration with the other members in NPBD as well as other departments in Japan and global functions.
You will be responsible for:
Lead BD activities such as commercial and financial evaluation, seeking for potential partnering opportunities, negotiation, and alliance management.
Development of BD strategy.
Ideation of new business opportunities.
Responsible and accountable for the overall successful relationship and contractual management of alliance programs resulting from various transactions.
Lead and /or participate in Japan/global business development projects as a representative of Japan NPBD.
Expand Alexion's industry presence through meetings and events.
Develop marketing strategy for early-stage products based on target product profile, customer insights and unmet medical needs. (Potential responsibility)
Lead a cross-functional launch team to ensure a successful launch. (Potential responsibility)
Acts as a project manager in launch preparation teams. (Potential responsibility)
Experience of BD activities and/or alliance management (at least 3 years of proven experience)
Understanding of financial concepts to assess the attractiveness of opportunities, as well as commercial knowledge.
Good understanding of the pharmaceutical/healthcare environment and a proven eye for commercial opportunities.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Interpersonal, negotiation, meeting facilitation and presentation skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to accept variety of assignments, highly motivated, a self-starter, and performs well under stress.
Ability to build and manage collaborative relationships at all levels inside and outside of the organization.
Strategic thinking including the ability to incorporate the perspective of different stakeholders.
Leadership that takes the initiative.
Fluency in Japanese required; proficiency in English is preferred.
