Role Summary
This is an accounting manager position mainly for preparation of financial statements under Japanese accounting standard in the accounting team of the company, a global insurance group company.
Job Description:
Perform general accounting services mainly for the reporting under Japanese accounting standard
Confirm and investigate accounting processing related mainly to Japanese accounting standard, including communications with auditor
Support team members
Internal control operation, including investigations
Other related duties
Requirements
Required experience and Skills:
At least 3 years of experience related to the insurance or other financial industry
At least 3 years of experience related to accounting or auditing
Data handling skill (accounting software and Excel skill is especially required)
Basic level of English is required (level for communication via English emails)
Preferential experience and Skills:
Experience in audit firm, accounting firm, accounting department at insurance company
IFRS 17 knowledge and experience
High level of English is required (level for meetings in English with Hong Kong and Toronto offices)
Candidate Profile:
Collaborative and able to lead communication with team members, other departments and other offices
Able to learn initiatively and give back to the team on accounting knowledge of insurance product
Able to take initiative in handling ad hoc tasks during quarterly closings.
Work with managers to improve operational efficiency and other aspects of the team with leadership
