Job Description

■ Your mission

Perform financial reporting and accounting for the legal entity in Japan based on IFRS and local GAAP requirements. Ensure transparency, an open communication; provide accounting governance & guidance and services to local and central business partners. Drive and support implementation of new processes, strategic projects, and initiatives within Accounting and Finance. Be a quality gatekeeper by driving compliance with accounting standards (IFRS & Local GAAP) and financial reporting rules.

■ Your responsibilities

Process Ownership and Systems responsibility:
- Responsibility for process Group closing & ECCS & HQ closing and Inventory Management.
- Further development of General Ledger system and Consolidation system.
- Lead or participation of/in projects with regard to specific accounting topics.

Main Process Activities:
- Manage overall Closing & Reporting process of financial statements and Inventory Accounting.
- Define Audit Approach for Closing Process and ensure audit management.
- Review Fluctuation Analysis and Reconciliation (Actual vs. Actual).
- Support controlling and management reporting.
- Support other departments as a subject matter expert for IFRS & JGAAP.

Guidelines and Procedures:
- Define and maintain Closing Schedule.
- Ensure adequacy of international & local accounting standards.
- Review Guideline for inter-company transactionsand reconciliation.

Compliance (e.g. ICS, other laws and regulations):
- Ensure strict compliance with internal control and other related rules and guidelines.
- Compliance with national and international accounting standards (JGAAP, IFRS).
- Compliance with accounting guidelines.

Managing:
- Lead, motivate and promote the assigned staff by means of target agreements and performance reviews. Ensure individual and task related qualification.
- Guarantee internal communication.
- Ensure that the agreed upon goals are achieved.
- Comply to all company and location wide regulations and guidelines (e. g. safety and environmental-protection regulations, working time regulations, guidelines etc.). Inform assigned staff about the appropriate regulations and instruct observance. Notice and/or control appropriate application.
- Develop / update Job descriptions, target agreements for assigned employees and performance appraisal.
- Other HR-tasks related to disciplinary responsibility (refer to HR department).

Requirements

■ Job Experience

Master or bachelor in business studies, or similar
10 years of working experience in Accounting department, especially in consolidation accounting
Experience of managing staff
Experience of IFRS adoption project
Experience of implementing consolidation accounting system

CPA would be beneficial

■ Practical Knowledge

Accounting (IFRS, US-GAAP, JGAAP)
Accuracy and analytical skills

■ Language

- English : Business Proficiency Required
- Japanese: Business Proficiency Required
